We, probably like you, are just about done with the insistent erasure of womxn’s voices and gross misrepresentation through stereotypes. We, of course, continue to advocate for better but are uncertain how long that will take. So we created a table for womxn where the content:

  1. acknowledges our full humanities, diverse capacities, and complexities.
  2. counters the patriarchal narrative perpetuated by mainstream media.

what we’re excited about this week!

DR. STELLA NYANZI  is FINALLY free and out of jail after winning her appeal to the High Court. Stella remained defiant and fearless throughout her trial and imprisonment, even writing a poetry collection (pictured above) while incarcerated. Get yourself a copy on amazon or locally.

what we’re angry about this week!

RITA NABUKENYA, commonly known as ‘Priya’ by her friends and colleagues, was on Monday, reportedly knocked off a boda boda and killed by a police patrol vehicle. Ritah was a People Power Movement activist. The police have denied these allegations, but are yet to release the CCTV footage which would show what really happened. May she receive justice and Rest In POWER.

Ms ANNE JUUKO has been appointed as the new CEO of Stanbic Bank Uganda, assuming her role on March 1, 2020.

IRENE KAGGWA SEWANKAMBO was appointed Acting Executive Director of UCC.
